Mahindra has been working very hard to improve its market share percentage, as for the past few years Mahindra hasn’t been doing well with its current car portfolio, most of the car that the company right now is selling looks pretty outdated as compared to other brands. And to overcome this atrocity Mahindra has announced its sole focus on the SUV segment and to do so, the company will be revamping its whole lineup of cars. Starting with the Mahindra XUV700 and then followed by the next-gen Scorpio, XUV300 EV, KUV NXT, and the XUV900 which will be the flagship car that will substantially be overpowering the current flagship Alturas G4. Here are the 4 things we know about the upcoming Mahindra XUV900.
The XUV900 will be based on the Mahindra Aero project which was showcased back in 2016 at the Auto Expo however the company didn’t felt a need at that time to introduce such a car in the Indian market. The XUV900 will be the company’s first-ever coupe-styled car and be placed in the luxury segment.
- Help driving features
The help driving features or the so-called Autonomous features will also be a part of the new XUV900 and most likely will be Level 1 ADAS based safety features like adaptive cruise control, park assist lane, keep assist and many more.
The XUV900 will most likely be sharing its engine with the upcoming XUV700 which will come with 2 engine options, such as 2.0-litre petrol and a 2.2-litre diesel engine. Which will be mated with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission system, with an option of a 4WD.
- Design Source
The XUV900 or also known by the codename W620 will be designed in the Mahindra Automotive Design Europe (M.A.D.E.) which obviously is located in Europe and is led by Pratap Bose.
