2022 Nissan X-Trail fourth-generation launching at the start of next year. The vehicle is built on an Alliance CMF-C platform and expected to offer the Nissan ePower powertrain, in which it delivers the power to an electric motor using a gasoline engine act as a generator. Nissan showcased the X-Trail at the ongoing Shanghai Auto 2021 but still hasn’t revealed the powertrain specifications yet. The updated vehicle likely to debut in the European market next summer. That being said X-Trail will arrive after two years after its original launch as the Nissan rogue in the USA back in June 2020.

The Japanese car manufacturer Nissan said that the electric SUV will offer a flexible and versatile interior for the customers with a sense of Nissan’s advanced technologies. As for the exterior design, the new generation X-Trail is based on Nissan 3.0 design philosophy, and it comprises of the larger grille, flanked by two-tier headlamps, and as compared with the ongoing generation model the new Gen will have the bigger dimension and the new X-Trail looks a lot more muscular than before. As for the rear design, it features wraparound taillights, along with Nissan Lettering on the tailgate and logo just above. It also consists of a rear silver color Skid Plate. As for the cabin, it could likely have ventilated seats, smartphone connectivity, larger infotainment, a digital instrument cluster, and a more advanced host of driver assistance functions.

While Nissan hasn’t been revealed the powertrain specifications of New generation X-Trail, but it could feature the same Qashqai ePower. Nissan Qashqai comes powered with a 1.5 Litre four-cylinder petrol engine paired with an electric motor placed at the front. The electric motor is capable of developing the maximum power output of 188 HP and peak torque of 330 Nm, and it also gets the one pedal operational ability as the all-electric leaf. That being said the ePowertrain offers a greater fuel economy and better lower emission compared with the ongoing model. Although, in China, the SUV could be launched in the second half of this year itself.
