Kia has recently revealed its new 2022 Kia Stinger with a variety of changes which will be making its market appearance in mid-2021 in the US. The 2 major changes the new 2022 Kia Stinger comprises are its new upgraded base engine and new upgraded cost, along with these changes the company has also introduced some minor cosmetic changes. Kia is also planning to introduce the new Scorpio edition of the new Stinger which will be making its appearance later this year.
Talking about the visual change, the new 2022 Kia Stinger looks identical to its predecessor which very minimal changes like the new Kia logo present at the bonnet and at the center of the alloy wheels, the new LED DRL “Signature” setup with optional “Stinger Signature”, and the GT Line comes with 18-inch alloy wheels while the GT1 and GT2 will be getting bigger 19-inch alloy wheels. On the inside, the new 2022 Kia Stinger gets a 10.1-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, a 4.2-inch TFT MID in the instrument cluster, a slightly tweaked dashboard.
Coming to the main attraction, the new upgraded engine. The base model of the new Stinger now comes with a 2.5-litre 4-cylinder inline turbocharged petrol engine which can produce up to 300 hp of max power and optimum torque of 422 Nm, mated with a standard for all variants 8-speed automatic transmission gearbox with an all-wheel-drive option for all variants at $2,200 additional cost. Whereas the previous model comprised of a 2.0-litre engine. However, this upgrade comes at a cost, the new base Stinger now costs $37,125 (Rs 27 lakh approx.) which is $3,000 costlier than the ongoing Kia Stinger base GT line.
The entry-level V6 GT variant has now been discontinued, while the GT1 and GT2 variants still persist with some price changes. The GT1 is now priced at $44,735 which is a price cut of $1,800 than its ongoing model and the GT2 not comes at $52,335 which is a price hike of $900 than its current GT2 model.
