2021 Volkswagen polo official production-ready version images have been revealed by the German brand. The 6th generation of the Mini hatchback got a midlife update to extend its current generation life cycle. The ongoing generation of polo has been in the international market for more than four years now. The manufacturer has made a host of updates inside and out, follows the facelift debut of SEAT Ibiza last week. Both the vehicles built on the same MQB A0 platform and also same will be used for the facelift version of Skoda Fabia coming next month.
As for the exterior design, the new polo gets a design inspired by its global bigger sibling Golf R. It gets the LED lighting bar, which also is seen in the updated Tiguan and Golf while the headlamps are sharper than before. The Top end trims get matrix headlights first time ever in Polo and newly designed alloy wheels are also in the package. As for the rear, it gets the new C-shaped LED taillights same as in the Golf R, along with new Polo lettering in the middle of the tailgate just below the brand’s logo. The R-line trim comes with 16-inch alloy wheels and a faux exhaust pipe. As for the interior, it gets an updated 9.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster, and touch Auto climate control as in the Arteon.
2021 Volkswagen polo comes powered with multiple powertrain options – 1.0 Litre naturally aspirated petrol which develops 80 HP of power and 93 Nm of torque and comes paired with 5-speed MT. The second one 1.0 Litre three-cylinder TSI engine rated at 95 HP and mated with 7-speed DCT automatic transmission system. Third, 1.0 TGI powered with CNG generate 90 HP and 160 Nm. The performance-oriented TGI launch will be launched soon. It is expected that TGI will continue to power with 2.0 Litre 4-cylidner turbocharged petrol engine burns out 200 HP of power and likely to paired with 6-speed MT as standard or an optional 7-speed DSG.
