Just a Few weeks ago Maruti Suzuki just launched the mid-life update of their 3rd generation, Swift, with some minor styling updates and some mechanical tune-ups. Making the new 2021 Swift more stylish and sporty, a new Dual-tone color paint scheme has also been introduced for the top trims, ZXI and ZXI+. However, the premium hatchback segment is quite interesting and many other brands have given the tough competition, although Swift remains the Top position in the segment and complete last year as the bestselling Hatchback of 2020. Exterior Design
The 2021 Maruti Suzuki Swift comprises, LED projector headlamps, LED DRLs, a new honeycomb cross mesh grille design along with chrome insert lining, and so on. The vehicle now gets a dual-tone paint scheme as well for the higher trims, which enhance the look even more.

On the other hand, Ford Figo comprises of, wide grille with the option with black or chrome mesh grille depending on variants, bulb headlamps, simple design taillights, the vehicle doesn’t have LED lightning and auto headlamps as well.

Interior
The Interior for 2021 Swift remains the same as the older pre-facelift version with the same black color theme. Its interior comprises, 7-inch infotainment touchscreen that supports android auto and apple car play, steering mounted controls, 4.2-inch MID, Cruise control, auto climate control, electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs, and height-adjustable seats, keyless entry, push start/stop, reverse camera, all power windows and so on.

On the other hand, Figo interior comprises, gets a charcoal black theme and 7.0-inch infotainment system, MID, Steering mounted controls, Auto foldable and electrically adjustable ORVMs, Auto climate control, auto headlamps, push start/stop, reverse camera, manually adjustable driver seat, and so on. As per the powertrain is concerned, the new 2021 Maruti Suzuki Swift offers only one engine option, 1.2 Litre inline four-cylinder Dual Jet naturally aspirated engine. The engine is capable enough to develop 90 PS of maximum power output and 113 Nm of peak torque, when mated with 5-speed MT or 5-Speed AMT.

On the other hand, Ford Figo is offered with two engine options, petrol, and Diesel. The 1.2 Litre inline three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, which develops 96 PS of power and 119 Nm of torque, when mated with 5-speed MT. While it also offers a 1.5 Litre inline four-cylinder turbocharged oil burner, which is also used in ford compact SUV EcoSport as well. Verdict
The Ford Figo is the most affordable offering in the segment, although its legs with Idle smart Start/Stop technology and Cruise control compared with Swift. While Figo offers two engine options and generates more power than the Swift engine. Although, both the vehicles are fun to drive and are equally handsome as well, most of the customers go for the Maruti Suzuki Swift because of less running cost and better resale value in the domestic market.
