2021 BMW M performance M340i powered with a 3.0 liter V6 turbo petrol engine. The launch for the Indian market has been scheduled for the 10th of march.

BMW India has been in a rush of expanding their line-up of entry-level sedans and SUV line-up in the Indian market. For instance, the 3 series line-up has been expanded last month with Gran limousine edition, which features a longer length and wheelbase, with no mechanical changes. 3 series Gran Limousine launched with a starting price of Rs 51.50 lakhs (ex-showroom), and it was preceded by a 2 series Gran coupe, The 2 series Gran coupe black shadow edition, X5 M competition, and X3 M. And last week BMW launched their entry-level X3 xDrive SportX with a starting price of Rs 56.50 lakhs (ex-showroom).
The 3 series expand the line up with an addition of M340i launching on 10th March 2021. Dubbed M340i will be the first M performance car from the brand, to be built locally at their Chennai plant. More cars will be built and assembled locally in near future at local assembly plants. It does have a difference as compared with the M3 competition version, which generates 510 HP of maximum power. Currently, BMW 3 series offered in, 330i Sport, 330i Sport, and 320d luxury line. Along, with the addition of M340i, a new X3 M40i xDrive variant will also be launched in India under X3 M.
2021 BMW 3 series M340i derives power from a 3.0 liter V6 inline turbocharged petrol engine, which belts out 374 HP of maximum power and 500 Nm of peak torque when mated with an 8-speed automatic transmission system. Powertrain connected transmission further sends power to all four wheels using xDrive AWD system that will be handy for off-roading capability.
